Virgo's Gentle September Energy- And How You Can Access It

  • by Erin Keatch

September is the natural bridge between the vibrancy of summer and the introspection of autumn. The Greek goddess Demeter is the ideal embodiment of the gentle, patient Virgo, reminding us to slow down and take care of ourselves. As the goddess of the earth and protector of harvests, Virgo’s are guided by their sensitivity, empathy and ability to nurture.

Just as nature prepares for a period of rest during winter, the divine feminine speaks of the importance of rest and rejuvenation. September encourages us to find moments of stillness and introspection, allowing for inner renewal and a sense of spiritual rebirth. Engage in practices that nourish your soul, and while each person has their own practice that works for them, September is a wonderful time to really honour the need for rest, as we align with Virgo’s nurturing energy and create space for inner growth.

Although I’m generally a coffee drinker, I love this tea fall nights (an added bonus is that thyme acts as a natural antiseptic and antioxidant), especially as we get closer to the full harvest moon, a moon known for its luminosity and brilliance.

Cinnamon-Thyme Tea

3 Bunches fresh Thyme

4 Whole Cinnamon sticks

Put thyme and cinnamon in a medium saucepan. Add 8 cups of water. Cover, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, with the lid slightly ajar, until the mixture has reduced to about 5 cups, 45-60 minutes. Strain, serve hot. (Martha Stewart)

Another way to bring a sense of coziness into our lives is with the fabric we wear. Wrapping ourselves in fabrics such as Velvets, Cottons and Wool help us move into cooler days.

Wishing you all a wonderful season!
